Why it is important to take care of your brand image on the Internet

Hi, guys!

In case you don’t know (and you shouldn’t know! lol) I’m an influencer and blogger in my life “outside of GamePlan”. My oldest blog has been on the air for 12 years (yes, more than a decade!) and one thing I’ve learned over all these years is how important it is to take care of your brand image on the Internet, because it reflects directly on what you is (at least digitally) and what you have to offer.

Today we’re going to talk a little about why it’s important to take care of your brand image on the Internet and why you should dedicate some of your time to follow a solid path – and also which shortcuts to avoid in order to avoid future problems.

Let ‘s go!

A private label is a point of reference

Think, if you are going to look for a supplier, partner or potential customer, which one will give you a better impression: the one with an email with the domain @nameofyourcompany.com or the one with an email @nameofyourinternetprovider.com? Of course it’s the first option, right?

Having an email with a domain with the name of your company and/or your product conveys much more trust and credibility, even more if it is the first contact with you. So it’s worth investing in a domain and having an email with it, it gives more professionalism and seriousness.

A website is your “home sweet home”

There is a very famous expression that says: “you don’t build on rented land”. And that goes for the Internet too!

Many people fall into the illusion of using only social media to build your brand image, and this is one of the worst mistakes you can comment on. Think about how many social networks and communication channels that existed and that no longer exist today – without thinking too much I can remember Fotolog, Orkut, MSN, Flogão and ICQ. So don’t make the mistake of thinking that just having a Facebook page or a YouTube channel is enough, because it’s not. Furthermore, you have no control over the decisions made on these networks.

Not your site, it will be yours and everything you want to change or any other type of decision will depend only on you. Again, it’s worth investing in a domain and server and building your business on your own land. The annual investment is not that high and the return is definitely worth it.

Who is not seen is not remembered.

You’ve probably already heard this. And here, social networks become an excellent ally in your company’s image plan, as they function as a constantly updated showcase.

Let me explain: a website is a website. It won’t have many updates, especially if it’s an institutional site, that is, one with the intention of presenting (and selling) your company. Social media, on the other hand, is constantly being updated and people interact with you/your company/your product through it. That’s why it’s important to think about it too.

And the reason is quite simple: who has never entered a page or profile to see when the last update was? Having an update, especially when we’re talking about a product, makes a big difference. It suggests that the company did not create a network and abandoned it; it continues to engage.

Make a study of which networks most apply to the purpose you want to achieve, and choose two or three to invest in. It may not seem like it, but taking care of social networks is a tough job!

How to take care of all this?

Like everything else in life, it is study and planning. It’s going to take a lot of trial and error too, don’t worry, especially if you’re a new company that’s still getting to know your target audience.

So start from the beginning: do a study of your product, analyze the market and also your direct and indirect competitors, study the best strategy to reach this goal and keep following and making adjustments along the way.

It will take a bit of work, especially if you don’t have an expert on your team, but believe me, it’s possible. And remember that the communication used on your website and social media says a lot about your company’s posture.I

I hope these tips have helped you to think about your brand image on the Internet and have opened up possibilities for you to explore the best path to your success.

See you in the next post 🙂
